- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 cups medium sized egg noodles, uncooked
- 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 1 small can mushroom pieces undrained
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

In a large skillet cook ground beef on medium-high. Season with salt and pepper while the beef is cooking. If needed drain excess fat from beef.

Sprinkle noodles evenly over meat. Combine tomato sauce, water, sugar, soup mix, and mushroom pieces in a small bowl. Pour sauce over noodles. Do not stir.

Cover and cook for about 15 minutes on medium-high, or until the noodles are cooked.

Note, if you wish to use pasta, like macaroni swap the 3 cups of egg noodles for 2 cups of pasta.
