1 ⅓cupswater
2tablespoonsbutter or margarine
½teaspoonsalt
⅓cupmilk
1cupBetty Crocker instant mashed potatoesdry
¼cupsweet pickle relish
2tablespoonsmayonnaise or salad dressing
1tablespoondried minced onion
2teaspoonsyellow mustard
4 to 6hot dogs
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Bring the water, butter, and salt to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan. Remove from the heat.
Add the milk and instant mashed potatoes and stir until just moistened. Let stand for about 30 seconds or until the liquid is absorbed. Then whip with a fork until fluffy.
Add the relish, mayonnaise, onion, and mustard and mix well.
Spread the mashed potatoes in an ungreased 1-quart casserole dish.
Cut each hot dog in half lengthwise and then in half crosswise. Arrange the hot dog pieces around edge of the mashed potatoes.
Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until the center is hot.
